Located on top of a cliff, the hotel overlooks a very transparent sea, in a particularly privileged position because it is quiet and at the same time not far from the town center of Giglio Porto. It was built on the ruins of a Roman Villa, probably owned by the wealthy Domizi Enobarbi family, of which Nero was a descendant. In the rear part of the hotel's entrance courtyard, traces of mosaic floors, walls and buildings are still visible. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, going down towards the Port, you come across the splendid Cala delle Murene, with a lovely little beach, where in the water you can see the remains of the banks of a fishpond for breeding valuable fish and moray eels, attached to the monumental patrician villa.
